Hello, my name is Sarah. I am an integrative psychotherapist with a passion about human connection and wellbeing in children and adolescents. My primary goal is to meet your child’s unique needs, facilitate healing, and nurture their personal development.
As an integrative therapist my approach revolves around the philosophy of working holistically and reflectively to individually meet the needs of the young person or child I am working with. The core factor in my approach is the relationship we would build together within the therapy. Relational connection is integral to human psychological growth; therefore, I create a safe and confidential space for your child to explore their difficulties at their pace. I meet them with compassion and acceptance and bring myself into each session to create an environment in which change can flourish.
Sessions with me would look unique depending on the child’s or teenagers wishes and personal circumstance. I work using a combination of talking therapies, play and creativity to process their experiences and for you to gain a greater self-awareness.
My work is informed by skills, theory and knowledge established in my masters training in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy for Children, Adolescents and Families at Roehampton University. I am also registered individual member of the BACP.
Work Experience.
I have been fortunate enough to work with both young people and adults in mental health services for five years, and this has established my depth of experience and skills working with a diversity of ages and backgrounds. Experience in a residential home supporting teenagers facing a mental health crisis brings a wisdom in my practice to understand the complexities and enormous challenges that can be faced in life. I consequently bring an ability to nurture your innate capacity for change and personal development.
Therapy is deeply personal process, and I would love to work together to empower your child’s growth.
